Honk: signals and mutual interest
How honk works in AOA: one tap to signal someone nearby, a mutual honk and Quick Actions for meeting in person, plus magnets that boost your signal.
Honk is the new hello
Not a like. Not a message. Just a signal: "I noticed you". A honk is a light, unobtrusive way to show interest in someone who is near you at the venue right now.
HONK: send a signal
Someone nearby caught your interest? Send them a signal. One tap. No text, no explanations. It isn't a declaration of love or an invitation on a date. It simply says: "hi, I see you".
- One tap on the button and your honk is sent
- The other person gets a notification that someone is interested in them
- You can send honks to several people at once
HONK HONK: mutual interest
A honk back means it's a match. The interest is mutual. Both of you get a notification and can pick a Quick Action:
- "I'll come over to you": you're ready to make the first move
- "Let's meet at the bar": suggest a neutral spot
- "Let's swap Telegram": share your contacts
Then look up from your phone
The person is right next to you. Everything else happens in person. AOA deliberately has no full chat: why text when you can just walk over? Quick Actions are a fast way to agree on a meetup that happens right now.
Not sure how to start? Take a look at the conversation starters: easy topics for a first "hi", for networking or for a date.
Magnets
Magnets are AOA's in-game currency that boosts your honks. When you send a honk with a magnet, the other person sees that you're especially interested. You can earn magnets for being active or buy them.
