Integrations/Diia

Diia

Identity verification through Diia.Signature: real age and real name instead of self-reported ones.

For usersFor organizers

Identity verification through the Diia app. The user signs a request in Diia, we verify the signature cryptographically, and the profile gets a verified name, date of birth and gender. An organizer can require this verification for 18+ events.

  • Verified age for 18+ events
  • Name, date of birth and gender come from the document, not from what someone says
  • Verified data becomes locked in the profile
  • Signature data is checked cryptographically, not taken on trust

Why it matters for events

For events with alcohol, adult formats or dating, age is not a profile detail but a requirement. The organizer turns on the 18+ label and the verification requirement, and a guest without a verified identity simply cannot register: the check happens before registration, not at the door.

There is a useful side effect beyond 18+: in formats like Speed Dating, verified age and gender make the matching fair.

How it works

  • The user taps "Verify" and goes to the Diia app
  • Diia returns a signature, and we check its chain of trust
  • The profile gets verified data from the document
  • Fields verified by Diia can no longer be edited by hand

What we do not do

On AOA, Diia is identity verification, not a way to sign in: you create an account the usual way and add verification to it. We do not sign documents through Diia.

How to connect

  1. User: open your profile and tap "Verify", then follow the steps in the Diia app
  2. Organizer: in the event form, turn on "18+" and the verification requirement
