Event referrals

How guests invite friends to your event with their own link, how to turn on a referral discount and where Insights shows who brought the most people.

What event referrals are

Events are always about community. If someone is going to an event, they want to bring friends along. AOA builds this into every event: when a guest registers, they get their own referral link to share. And you, as the organizer, see who actually brings new people.

How it works for a guest

  1. The guest registers for your event and confirms they're coming.
  2. A "Share" button appears in the registration block: it opens that guest's unique link.
  3. The guest sends the link to friends in any messenger or social network.
  4. When a friend opens the link, they see a badge above the event title, something like "Zakhar invites you to join", with the name and avatar of the person who invited them.

If the friend registers through this link, AOA remembers the connection: who brought whom.

Referrals and the referral discount

You can encourage guests to share the event even more by turning on a referral discount in the event's "Registration" tab. Then friends who register through a guest's link automatically get a discount on selected ticket types. It applies right in the registration block, no promo codes needed. You can set the discount level and the ticket types it applies to in Tickets and pricing.

How to see who brings guests

All referral stats are in your event's "Insights" tab, in the "Registration referrals" section. There you'll see a list of guests who brought at least one friend, and how many people came through each link.

Tap a guest to open their card ("Guest Details") with the full list of people they invited. And each invited guest's card shows whose recommendation brought them: the connection works both ways.

We recommend using this section to spot your event's most active ambassadors and thank them for spreading the word.

Availability

Referral links work for events with public visibility. For private events by direct link, invitations are limited, since the event itself is already shared directly.

Tracking traffic sources with UTM

UTM parameters help you understand where visitors come from and measure the return on different promotion channels. AOA supports the utm_source parameter: add it to your event link to track views and registrations from a specific source.

For example, if your event link is https://aoa.com.ua/events/your-event and you want to label the source as a help article, the UTM link will look like this:

https://aoa.com.ua/events/your-event?utm_source=help_article
