Posts and announcements with visibility levels
How to publish posts and event announcements for your community with three visibility levels: for everyone, for all members or only for selected membership tiers.
The organization's content feed
AOA gives organizations their own content feed, like Patreon. You publish posts (text plus media), and each post has its own visibility level.
Three visibility levels
- PUBLIC: a public post that everyone sees, even visitors to the organization page who aren't signed up
- MEMBERS_ANY: available to all active members of the organization, at any tier
- MEMBERS_SPECIFIC: available only to members of the tiers you choose (one or several)
For MEMBERS_SPECIFIC posts, you choose explicitly which membership tiers have access: only Inner Circle, Insider plus Inner Circle, or any combination.
How to write a post
- Go to "Manage", then your organization, then "Posts"
- Tap "Create post"
- Enter a title and text (markdown is supported)
- Add media: photos or videos from storage
- Choose the visibility level
- Save it as a draft (isDraft) or publish it right away
Drafts are visible only to their authors. Published posts get a publishedAt date.
Event announcements with levels
Just like posts, an announcement of a new event can be shown:
- To everyone: publicly, listed in the AOA catalog
- To all subscribers: subscribed members get the announcement, but the event stays open to everyone
- Only to members of the right tier: the event is closed, with access only by membership tier
What a non-member sees
If a post is MEMBERS_ANY or MEMBERS_SPECIFIC, a guest sees the title, but the content and media are hidden behind a message saying "available to members of tier X". This creates a natural nudge to sign up for a membership.
Connection with the Telegram channel
If a curated Telegram channel is linked to a tier, new posts can be duplicated to the channel automatically for members of that tier.
