Special formats: Speed Dating and Living Library
How to run Speed Dating with automatic pairing, a round timer and mutual matches in Telegram, and a Living Library ("My book") with session booking.
Speed Dating
A structured dating format: attendees sit in pairs at tables, each round lasts a fixed time, then AOA reseats everyone according to a new plan. The platform automates pairing and communication.
How to run it
- In the event builder, choose the Speed Dating type
- Set the parameters: the number of pairs, the age of men and women, the ticket price, manual approval, a referral discount
- The platform automatically validates gender at registration and keeps the attendee balance in check
- Before the start, run check-in: the system accounts for no-shows and adjusts the rounds
- Start the first round from the organizer panel; attendees get a Telegram message telling them which table to sit at
- The timer ends the round automatically and starts the next reseating
- During the event you can pause, change the timer, add breaks or disqualify an attendee
- After the event, attendees get a notification about a mutual match in Telegram and by email
What AOA automates
- Pairing with numbers on badges
- Validating gender and attendee balance
- An automatic round timer and table navigation in Telegram
- Voting for a partner right in Telegram or on the web
- Collecting mutual matches after the event
- Referral discounts for inviting friends
- Round history for the organizer
Living Library ("My book")
Attendees register as "books" (they tell their story) or "readers" (they book sessions with books). The format works well as a standalone event or as an activity inside a bigger event.
How to run it
- In the builder, choose the Living Library format
- Set up the number of books, the number of rounds, session length, breaks and seats per session
- Attendees apply as books (with a title, description and tags); you as the organizer moderate the list
- Readers browse the available books and book sessions
- The platform builds the session schedule and prepares Telegram navigation for guests
- During the event: a session timer, pausing, adding breaks, removing an attendee who left
- Every attendee automatically gets Telegram messages about their next book and table
What AOA automates
- Moderating book applications (approve / reject)
- The session schedule by round
- Session booking by readers
- Telegram reminders about the session, the next book and the table
- The session and break timer
- Controlling seats per session
- Adjusting to actual attendance after check-in
